Sin -- Cleanse Your Hands

James 4:8           Cleanse your hands you sinners, purify your hearts, draw close to God

Psa 24:3-5         Who may stand in God’s holy place? He who has clean hands.

Ex 19:10, 14-15 Israel was to purify themselves before receiving the 10 commandments

Ex 29:1-4           Purification of Aaron and sons to serve as priest

Ex 30:17-21       Tabernacle to have laver for priest to wash before serving

Priest had to cleanse themselves before they could offer blood sacrifices to cleanse sins

Num 8:5-10       Purification of Levites to serve in temple

Num 19:11-13   rules of purification

2 Chr 4:6            Temple had ten lavers for washing sacrifices, sea for priest to wash in

2 Chr 30:17-20 Hezekiah prayed that God would “heal” the people who were unclean for Passover

John 11:55         Jews came to Jerusalem to purify themselves before eating the Passover

Heb 9:11-15      Jesus came as High Priest, enter tabernacle with His own blood to purify our flesh

Heb 9:22-28      OT dedicated with blood of animals.  We with blood of Jesus

Heb 10:19-22    Let us draw near, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience and our bodies washed

Psa 18:17-21     David confronted.  God helped because he had clean hands

Psa 51:2, 6-7, 10         Purge me with hyssop, wash me, create in me a clean heart

Psa 73:1             God is good to Israel, to such as are pure in heart

Prov 20:9           Who can say I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin

Isa 1:13-17        I hate your feasts.  Your hands are full of blood.  Wash yourselves, Make yourselves clean.

Isa 64:6              We are an unclean thing, our righteousness are like filthy rags

Eze 36:25-29     God to sprinkle clean water on Israel, cleanse them, give them a new spirit, a new heart

Matt 23:25-26    Jesus told Pharisees, you cleanse the outside, but inside you are full of self-indulgence

Acts 15:9           God gave HS to Gentiles, purifying their hearts by faith

2 Cor 7:1           Having these promises, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh

1 Pet 1:22          You have purified your souls in obeying the truth thru HS in sincere love of the brethren

1 John 3:3          Everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure

1 John 1:7-10     If we follow God the blood of Jesus His Son will cleanses us from all sin

Rev 7:14            These are those who came out of tribulation, washed robes, made white with blood of Lamb

Rev 1:5-6           Jesus, firstborn from dead, He loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood

(John 13:5          Jesus washed all our feet)

James 4:8           (NLT) Come close to God, and God will come close to you.  Wash your hands, you sinners; purify your hearts, for your loyalty is divided between God and the world.
