Survivor on TV: Outwit, Outlast, Outplay.  Lazy vs. hard workers.  Sociable, caring vs. selfish, outgoing. 

 

God gives as the chance – in this life time, if we’re fortunate enough.

But we have to make an effort.  We’ve got to give it our all.

 

Phil 2:12-13     Don’t just obey in someone else’s presence, but work out our own salvation with fear and trembling.  God gives us the will and power to do what pleases Him.

 

Phil 3:13-14     Forget what is behind, and reach forward to the things which ahead.  Press toward the mark

Prov 10:4-5, 16-17      The labor of the righteous leads to life

Prov 13:4        A lazy man desires but has nothing.  The soul of the diligent shall be made rich

Ecc 9:10          Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might

Matt 7:21-27   Not those who say “Lord, Lord”, but he who does the will of God

Matt 25:18,24-30         Parable of talents.  Got to do something with what given.

Matt 25:1-14   Make sure keep oil reserve full

Matt 16:27      Jesus will return and He will reward each according to his works

John 15:5,8,10 The Father is glorified when we bear much fruit

Rom 2:6-7, 13 By patience in doing good seek eternal life, glory, honor and immortality

Rom 13:13, 8-12  Walk properly as in daylight

1 Cor 9:24-27 Run as if it were a race and there could only be one winner

1 Cor 15:10     Paul worked harder with the grace that God had bestowed upon him

1 Cor 15:58     Be steadfast, abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain

1 Cor 3:14       If the works we have built endure, we will receive a reward

2 Cor 4:17       Our light affliction, momentary, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal glory

2 Cor 5:9-10 We labor so we can be acceptable to God,  judgment according to what done

Eph 6:10-18    We don’t wrestle against flesh and blood, but against dark spiritual powers

Phil 1:27          Let conduct be worthy of Jesus.  Stand fast, striving together for the faith of the gospel

Phil 2:14-16     Holding fast the word of life, so that rejoice in KOG, having not run in or labored in vain

Phil 3:12-14     I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Jesus Christ

Col 1:10-11, 29 Walk worthy of the Lord, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in knowledge

1 Thes 5:6-8    Let us not sleep, but watch and be sober

1 Thes 5:17-22  Pray without ceasing

1 Tim 6:12-14 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life

2 Tim 2:15,22  Study to show yourself approved unto God, a workman that needs not be ashamed

2 John 1:8        (LB) Watch out, so that you do not lose the prize for which we have been working so hard.

Phil 2:12-13     Work out your own salvation doesn’t mean to earn our way or to make our own arrangements into the KOG.  It means to continuously produce the fruits of obedience, to day-in and day-out obey the laws of God.  Faith without works is dead.  Keep up the good works until your dying day.

Overcome

Rom 12:21      Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good

Eph 4:22          Put off our former conduct, the old man which is corrupt with deceitful lusts

Col 3:8-9         Put off anger, wrath, malice, lying – the deeds of the old man

Acts 26:20       Paul preached to Gentiles that they should repent and do works meet for repentance

James 1:21      Lay aside all filthiness and wickedness

James 4:8        Draw near to God and cleanse our hands from sin

1 Pet 2:1          Lay aside all malice, deceit, hypocrisy, envy and evil speaking

1 John 5:4-5    Whoever is born of God overcomes the world.  Victory thru faith.

Summary

Psa 27:4          That which I have desired of God, that will I seek all the days of my life, to dwell with God

Heb 6:10-12    God is not unjust to forget our work and labor of love.  Don’t be sluggish, be patient.
